Ascott Raffles City Shenzhen offers accessibility and comfort in the heart of Shekou District.
Shenzhen, a major city in the Guangdong Province of China, has become one of the focuses of tourism for the people traveling from Hong Kong and Macau. Aside from its accessibility, the vibrant colors of skyscrapers that illuminate during the nighttime also play a part bringing in tourists. Since it’s my husband birthday and to celebrate, we agreed to go to Shenzhen and book the nearest and upscale hotel near to Shekou District; Ascott Raffles City. Given that we lack the Mandarin language, the serviced apartment is perfect for us since it’s connected to the mall and closed to a ferry terminal.
Ascott Raffles City is located at the junction of Dengliang Road and Nanhai Avenue in Nanshan District. The prime serviced apartment is 10 minutes drive away from Shenzhen Bay port in Shekou, which makes it an ultimate location for global travelers coming either from Macao or Hong Kong.
Ascott Raffles City offers 182 elegant furnished apartments vary from comfortable studio to three-bedroom apartments. Each apartment has a modern living space, well-furnished kitchen, and high-speed internet. The hotel building itself is quite tall and stands out from its neighboring structures which give us a good view of the city at the comfort of our apartment. Besides the cozy apartment, location and affordability; I’m also impressed how accommodating the staff and their ability to speak English.
Ascott Raffles City offered us a free upgrade to One-bedroom Executive Apartment for the entirety of our stay. Thus, I can’t help to giggle while we were in the elevator going to our apartment; we felt fortunate and makes it an excellent start to his birthday weekend.
The apartment is reasonably spacious. The kitchen is surprisingly well-furnished with excellent facilities which greeted us upon entering the apartment. On top, the apartment has a spacious and luxurious bath that is perfect for relaxing. Such a treat!
The variety of food provided during breakfast was certainly not that much. It’s important to realize that some guests are expected to cook at the comfort of their unit, considering its a serviced apartment. There were also a few guests who took advantage of the breakfast; however, you will have to pay an extra charge.
Getting around in Shenzhen is easy if you have the Chinese name of your destination. Chinese address is necessary as most locals don’t speak English and to ensure a stress-free outing. The price of the taxi rides in Shenzhen, or China is notably cheap when compared to Macau. On our first night, we went to Sea World in Shekou District to eat and unwind. You will surprisingly find a massive ship converted into a hotel. While there are a variety of restaurants and bars surrounding it that you can choose from.
First, we first strolled around the area by the time we arrived before getting acquainted with Shenzhen. We end up with an awesome view of the marina and a beautiful sunset.
If you are looking for a place to stay in Shenzhen and you want to save yourself from all the trouble going to the city, I highly recommend Ascott Raffles City. It is the perfect combination of affordability, accessibility, and comfort. Ultimately, the serviced apartment is next to the mall which makes it convenient and offers a quiet stay.
Our stay in Ascott Raffles City was pleasant and we hope to come back again in the future. For clarity, my review and opinions are my own.
